Epigenetic Control of Human Neural Crest Formation: Impact on Neurocristopathie - Grant #5 R01 DE024584

  • Goal: Defects in the development of neural crest-derived tissues are responsible for some of the most common birth defects many of which present with characteristic facial features. Here we propose to investigate CHD7 and PHF6, proteins that are defective in two such syndromes with contrasting features-CHARGE and Börjeson-Forssman-Lehmann syndromes respectively using Xenopus and human stem cells as model systems for our studies.
